Instance Performance Issue: "Slow-mo" followed by "Fast-forward" loop in large Temple maps
|
Hi GGG Support and Community,
I am experiencing a consistent and strange performance issue in Path of Exile 2, specifically within large Temple instances (around 76 rooms). I'm hoping to get some technical insight or see if others are facing this. The Issue: The "Slow-mo" Phase: For about 10 rooms (roughly 10 minutes), the game feels like it’s running in slow motion. Everything moves sluggishly, but my character still responds to inputs. The "Fast-forward" Phase: Suddenly, the game "catches up" and runs at what feels like 5x normal speed for the next 7–10 rooms. The Loop: This cycle repeats throughout the entire run. My Stats during the issue: FPS: Solid at 110 – 120 FPS. Latency: at 20 - 200ms Observation: Since my FPS is high, this doesn't seem to be a hardware rendering issue. It feels like the server instance is struggling to simulate the physics/actions of such a large number of rooms/mobs, causing a desync where the client waits for the server (Slow-mo) and then the server sends a burst of data to catch up (Fast-forward). Video 1 (Slow-mo): https://youtu.be/YE8Wv2vcZ3Y Video 2 (Fast-forward): https://youtu.be/7lQJIW8oW3U System Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D GPU: AMD RX 9070 XT Gateway: Singapore Realm Has anyone else encountered this "rubberbanding" effect while maintaining high FPS and stable ping? Any advice on settings or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by methangbull#2059 on Apr 23, 2026, 1:07:33 AM Last bumped on Apr 23, 2026, 9:16:18 AM

I'm experiencing the same problem as you, but this only happens in three realms: Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. Switching to a different realm like Australia works fine.
