Hot Swap Between Keyboard and Controller
|
I wanted to bring this up again because it feels like something that has been overlooked for too long.
Hot swap between keyboard and controller was originally planned for 0.2, yet we still have not received it. At this point, it is not just a nice to have feature. It is something that would significantly improve moment to moment gameplay. Right now, playing on controller comes with some pretty limiting drawbacks. For example, you do not get access to the full functionality of the stash. Things like making stash tabs public or setting currency price tags are simply not available, which forces players back to keyboard anyway. On top of that, there are gameplay issues. Certain mechanics feel unreliable or clearly bugged on controller, such as strongboxes or essence corruption failures. These situations can interrupt gameplay entirely and sometimes even force you to reconnect your controller just to continue. Even basic interactions can become frustrating. Something as simple as browsing through the passive tree feels clunky and slow compared to mouse input. You also cannot purchase a full stack of Scrolls of Wisdom on controller, which is about as basic as it gets. What makes this more confusing is that other ARPGs already support seamless hot swapping between input methods. It is a solved problem in the genre. Adding hot swap would not just be a quality of life improvement. It would bridge the gap between two input systems that currently feel disconnected. Right now, controller support feels incomplete, and this would go a long way toward fixing that. Last bumped on Apr 20, 2026, 8:04:51 AM

It was already mentioned during 0.4 that it's still being worked on.
