You didn't activate the pillar until after the time expired. You didn't seem to be very far so it's not a huge loss at least.

This actually killing hc players feels really cheap to me.

From the way the trial works I assumed it would just deplete honour and end the run, not kill the character.

Reminds me of the time I thought the river hag orb would just freeze me.

Damage in trial deals damage to both life and honor. When your honor is depleted, the trial fails. However, if your life is depleted, you die as normal.

I've failed one before just to see what happened lol. I guess I was commenting more on how insta-death feels like a poorly communicated consequence here. It wasn't my first guess about what was going to happen.

In the trial's defense, I suppose they are called "death crystals" lol.
