Elemental ore node tanks performance on some maps.
|
I have noticed for a couple of leagues now, that on some maps (where some "weather" effect / delirium fog is already present (due to permanent delirium orbs), if you activate elemental ore node (from settlers league), it can seriously kill fps performance on lower end pc.
Specifically "snow" effect, layered on something else. Bug report reference number 4,135,356,869. Here for example, in moon temple map I have 8 fps in the main zone of a map, after this "changed snow", got on top of mirage zone, on top of background water effect. And it is not instant, because falling particles take a bit of time to generate and accumulate, but with any monsters alive game becomes a slide show so I am forced to mine this ore after killing everything, which is counterintuitive to "jussing" function of the ore (according to interviews). Bizarrely enough, inside mirage portal, after activation of the same ore node, fps is 43. So there are some overlapping interaction of effects, that results in bad performance in one case, while having "no snow" inside mirage, with good performance. If I could disable the fancy "snow" effect in graphics menu, or choose to always go to better performance one, I suspect it would be enough to give me a temporal fix. Yes I have not very powerful laptop, but literally the 95% of the rest of the game plays fine (on minimal possible settings). Here is my DxDiag, that is the same as I used previously (because laptop is the same), when I reported performance problems in villa map several leagues ago. Good job by the way, the villa did indeed became playable for me, if I remember correctly, so you did fix the problem there, I presume (it was probably something similar, just with rain and not "snow"). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GiMbzAvI2r_Y2qrrVaU1UK5w5PoEHyd6/view?usp=drive_link Client settings (graphics): Mode: windowed fullscreen Render resolution: 67% - 1280 x 720 Renderer: DirectX12 (Default) VSync: Off Triple-Buffering: Disabled Foreground FPS cap (240) - disabled Background FPS cap (30) - enabled __________ Detail settings: Antialiasing quality: Off (Default) Upscale mode: NIS (default) Sharpness - 15% Lighting - Shadows (default) Shadow quality - Low (default) Sun shadow quality - Low Number of lights - low Bloom - 25% (minimum possible) Depth of Field - Disabled (default) Water detail level - Low Texture quality - Medium Texture filtering - Trilinear filtering Performance metrics (irrelevant) - All, with 3/4 transparency bar to the right. ___________ Advanced settings Dynamic culling - Enabled Dynamic resolution - Enabled (default) Target framerate - 60 Engine multithreading - Enabled (default).
