Patch 0.5 speculation summary
|
If anyone is still wondering and doesn't feel like analyzing the previous patch dates:
The most optimistic option (almost unrealistic): a live announcement in the week of April 23rd, with the broadcast itself on April 30th, and a start on May 8th (very unlikely; announcements were usually made two weeks before the broadcast, except for one time when the live itself was on Wednesday, not Thursday, and then it was a week, not two). Optimistic option: a live announcement in the week of April 23rd, with the broadcast itself on May 7th, and a start on May 15th. Realistic: a live announcement on April 30th, a broadcast on May 14th, and a start on May 22nd. Pessimistic: a live announcement on May 7th, a broadcast on May 21st, and a start on May 29th (or each date week later etc) The last option agrees with poe2db. Conspiracy theory with pessimitic option (found on one of the poe2-themed discords): poe2db received information about such a delay and posted it on their website to see the players' opinions and to kind of prepare them for this delay and to kind of relieve their bad emotions. However, I consider the above to be unserious, and the date entered on the poe2db website caused a lot of negative emotions among players. The forum was silent about 0.5 until this information appeared on poe2db. It should also be remembered that poe2db also posted very false information in 0.4, e.g. for a while there was an entry on their website that traps and the shadow character class would be added in 0.4, which turned out to be nonsense. Sticking to the realistic option that any announcement from GGG will be at the end of April (which is consistent with what they wrote in February), they wrote that they will announce their full plans (probably dates) and not that the start of a new league or live will be in April, so there is no point in getting upset and writing that GGG has disappointed the players, etc., because those who complain about it the most will continue to play despite what they write ;) sooner or later we will see each other in the game, see you soon fellow exiles Last bumped on Apr 17, 2026, 8:09:36 AM

" Why would anyone waste time for analyzing pointless stuff? What's your gain? Announcements will come when they come. The next league will come, when it comes. Your speculation doesn't change anything about that, nor do you gain anything from it except: 1. Wasting your time 2.1 Being right 2.2 Being wrong |

I just wish theyd give us a date so we can book time off.
Its pushing it for most people to book off a week on short notice (<1 Month, at least for me in my role it will be). This radio silence feels bad. I dont think anyone would be mad if they just set a date for the announcement itself or at least give us an idea of whats to come, surely they know where theyre at and wwhats acheivable by now? Cmoooooon GGG, just give us something to work with so we can plan accordingly please! Also, <3! |

The problem isnt just the delay. Its the prolonged silence from GGG while they cook the endgame rework. Nobody knows if its going to be good, bad, or actually promising. Not even the league name.
At the end of April they will finally say something, but a lot of people already expect it to be just another delay announcement, pushing us to a 5 to 6 month gap between major leagues. There is zero hype, no teasers, nothing, just almost two months of complete silence. They might deliver a big patch, but after this much time, what even counts as big? It could end up feeling like an improved 0.2 and then we go back to cooking everything again until the end of the year. Last edited by ppgninja#1423 on Apr 17, 2026, 5:47:03 AM
