Astrolabes and my biggest gripe with them

I have yet to get anything meaningful from the vaults. But my biggest complaint is that you cannot drop Astrolabes while running Astrolabes. It's probably the same constraint in memory threads that you cannot get more memory threads but here it is clearly communicated at least. I feel the bosses are great for a potential Astrolabe drop in normal maps, but they feel useless in the Astrolabe. Make the drops more rare, but let this be selfsustainable at least in theory.

This behaves close to pretty much anything else.

You can't drop t17 maps in t17 maps themselves
You can't drop heist bps in heists
You can't get sulphite in delve
You can't drop blighted maps in blighted maps (ravaged maps in standard blighted maps sometimes drop)

etc.

GGG doesn't want players to self-sustain like that.

There was a league where you could sustain sextant modifiers forever with a harvest craft. They nerfed this craft to 50% chance right after that league (and later removed sextants so its no longer there).

Fair enough, but I find this design decision extremely outdated. What's the point if I can just buy more from trade? I just have to jump through hoops and this makes it annoying and inconvenient, not the best adjectives for a game,,,


Since it's the league mechanic, maybe let ppl just have fun with it. T17, Blight etc. are largely other "formats" and it may be fine to break up the gameplay, but the Astrolabes are just a consumable and most of the time I didn't even feel their impact...

I didn't even know astrolabe influenced maps can't drop more astrolabes from their bosses. That's so bad lol

The vault rewards are already underwhelming, I literally have no reason to use them. Guess I'll just keep selling them to faustus unless there are new interesting astrolabes next league, or a rework for that mechanic.
