Bosses and builds.

Playing hardcore and just got to the architect, playing a parry oriented huntress. Some bosses are just kinda silly for certain builds. It doesn't look like anyone is taking into consideration- what about this fight for x build. For instance at a simple level, does the boss have adds or not? Simply not having adds can cripple some builds. Just like parry on the architect- I'm not sure if anything is parryable, I'm super sure I don't want to die to find out. So because I can't parry, something I've been able to do the entire game- even against the pillar monkey boss... the boss fight is a 10 minute slog. Its not a 'bad' fight, but man it takes forever because I can't get frenzy charges. Theres not even a part that has adds, so at least I get some burst here and there. The pirate boss was very similar. Very tricky to parry because his moves are very difficult to decipher. Is he doing a little auto attack or a MASSIVE hit... not sure, they are quite similar. He does have adds, but... maybe unlucky- I think its the first time no adds spawned, not once, that I've ever fought him. Is there a parry check or something and no adds spawn? Bug? Very odd. My parry also does a lot of damage. Then it leads into disengage, then into parry charged abilities. Pretty much the whole kit is gone if I can't parry. Parry also has a 50% debuff on it... oh, and defenses that rely on consuming frenzy charges. Typically I'm running around with all these mods up, there are nodes with literally 50% evasion if you've consumed a frenzy charge recently. So now I'm fighting a boss, just some specific bosses, missing a LOT of stuff. I'm fine with there being a difference between clear and single target. Obviously, that just makes builds challenging- but not when you're eliminating a skill because you simply can't do it. Like if there are no corpses, its the same issue. There is a vast difference between a skill being bad for single target vs clear- and simply not being able to use the skill at all. If you made parry, but then players can't use it against bosses- when then you have to change parry. I've seen people complain about this in delirum content. Yeah, you shouldn't have content that completely can't be played because there aren't things that are EVERYWHERE else in the game. You CAN'T do that, its simply bad design. You're literally eliminating specific builds from playing game content. Thats nuts, its massively disrespectful to a players time. I know that minions on the two uh vaal bosses- still has crazy healing bugs as well. My last playthrough I had... I think just the wolves... I was crushing everything and couldn't even touch them. I thought the fight had changed. Did some searching, saw something about minions- hmm. Turned off my dogs, which were basically just distractions- instantly a completely different fight. Its stuff like that... like, aren't there tests written or something to test all the different stuff? Seems like that would be rather important. I think ALL the stuff is not really possible, when you consider uniques; but certainly things like, what if the player has minions- does the fight become impossible? Every build should not be good at everything by design.
PS. Add "parry" in the subject, as that's mostly your point. |
