Reminder to make more spells viable
|
It’s been discussed a thousand times, but I wanted to create a new thread so GGG doesn't forget about the topic.
Many spells are basically unusable outside of "Cast on" gems, or are in need of significant buffs to be viable. - A good example of this is Eye of Winter. It would be really cool to have a D2-style "Frozen Orb sorc" in this game, but due to how the spell is designed, it’s not viable as a primary damaging skill. - Comet is only good as a "Cast on" skill—non-existent outside of that use case. - Fireball can work, but it really feels more like "Fire Bolt" from D2. When I think of a fireball, I expect a larger missile with a medium AoE. This is a matter of preference, though. - Firewall looks awesome and could be an archetype on its own, but right now it serves no purpose other than to buff Spark. In some cases, I feel it’s the forced synergy that makes these spells so weak. It would be nice if the synergy between elements only provided buffs in the form of ailment buildup and not hit damage, so that we can balance the base skill damage of unused spells. All of these are viable
Firewall “is not just meant to buff spark” I’m not even sure spark players even bother doing that at all. That’s something you do at the start of the game Mash the clean

" Im not sure how the others play but the added cool down to eye of winter was a shocker to me, I know there are ways with alot of investment to make it work but as a base skill I agree it sucks and would also love a d2 frozen orb build, was really looking forward to this myself. |
