Corrupted Alter ate my bow

I found a couple of threads of this but we were doing the Jiquani's Machinarium when I used the corrupted altar on my bow and it just disappeared. Tried logging back out and back in. Tried respawning at check point. It's gone. Really really annoying.

Not a bug, this is one of the potential outcomes of using the corruption altar.
