Can imbued increased aoe support aspect of the spider effectively?

There seems to be conflicting answers to this question. Perhaps someone from GGG could clarify?

Apparently increased aoe on the tree and socketed jewels work but the actual support gem may not. The wiki says it does. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

POB shows aspect of the spider cannot be support by inc aoe(just add any item with the aspect and put the support gem into that gear slot)

to lazy to log into my old divine ire character to see if slapping it into the shield has same behavior

imbued supports will behave like lvl 1 support gems, so if it doesn't work it doesn't work

Imbued or socketed AoE and conc effect supports never worked with Aspect of the Spider.

On poet wiki it shows that more duration and increased aoe support work with aspect of the spider, so I tried a more duration imbued and indeed, it shows the duration as increased, so that is confirmed which made me fmore confident the aoe claim was correct as well. I can't confirm for the aoe definetively as I had with the more duration and although it seems like it is working anecdotaley perhaps it's like a placebo effect as there is no numerical indication as with md. This is why I had hope GGG would give an official response.

Its very unlikely you will get a direct answer from GGG.

But this is quite easy to test. Grab a buddy and go to pvp and see if he gets spider debuffs at different ranges with and without the gem.

PoeDB says it can't be supported by inc AoE support. It also doesn't show an AoE tag. It only shows

If you compare that to other item-granted skills that can be supported by inc AoE, they have "Area" in their tag list. Take Blood Sacrament (from Relic of the Pact)
