The big debate we have these days is about the speed of the game. I would argue that it's more about the feel of the game. I personally think patch 0.1 was too slow for the campaign but I think 0.3 did become too fast. The reality is the abilities kinda suck. I'd rather play league of legends for the responsiveness and how the abilities feel.
Example 1: Brand in LoL actually feel like a mage that spreads fire AND it's unironically one of the most played champ in the most casual mode we have (ARAM Mayhem). There is a reason for that. Example 2: Toxic growth doing the damage over poison burst arrow. The fantasy we want is playing Twitch ultimate in LoL with WASD, not having some other thing that has delayed damage on a build that is already DoT. In POE 2 Fire isn't really like that. Bleed builds have more spread than fire builds which makes no sense considering that in real life bleeding doesn't make someone else bleed unlike a fire can spread or a sickness can (poison). My main argument here isn't even about fire, it's about how abilities are designed. They are not fun. The tornado ability feels like a copy and paste from diablo 4 and god does it look like shit. It feels like shit but humans are egotistical beings so when their build works, they are proud. What is THE main reason people come to POE instead of other ARPG's? It's easy to answer but people are blinded by what other people say. It is not the endgame. It is not the pace. It's the finite but endless possibilities of making a build. Now Gems are insanely unbalanced in this game so yea even if people say we had a good variety of builds this season, it was still terribly balanced. So I think it's wrong for content creators to keep saying we had the most amount of builds if it's still terrible for many other builds. Now, I could say I want 0.5 to balance the game which is true but the reality is that the balance is gonna feel off every single patch no matter what if the content of the game isn't out. It is definitely an early access in my eyes but the devs CANNOT see it that way now that so many players have access to the game. So they are forced to come with acts, classes and gems before they can fix the game in the way they really want. THE PERFORMANCE. I know quite a bit about PC's. Now there are no better PC in the world to game than having a 9850x3d cpu and a 5090. If you have better, it's overclocked. I'm saying this because I watched a podcast saying that devs have insane PC's to work with and PC parts we don't know about do not exist. My Statement: YOU CANNOT HAVE GOOD PERFORMANCE WITH THE SPEED WE CURRENTLY HAVE IN THE GAME. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. THIS GAME IS WAY HEAVIER FOR YOUR PC THAN POE1 AND PC'S AREN'T FAST ENOUGH YET. Hence game HAS TO slow down for the ''vision''. + gems levels: I don't think those were meant to be permanent so I won't talk too much about it except for the fact that I hate those stats right now. P.S. Base cast times and skill speed of many abilities feels uncomfortable to play with and I personally think it's bad design or it's meant to be a stat pulled from POE1 and unmodified so they just nuked the gems instead. I think the game should feel responsive from beginning to end but doesn't have to be hyper speed in the very late game. I get it they want to use them as stats you can modify but I think those stats don't have to be so strong. fix concoctions thank you. I heavily disagree with your point. Just because a game doesn't look the same or appeal to the same people doesn't mean abilities can't be similar.
