[Feedback] Reduce Socketable Bloat
|
With dozens of runes, having three tiers of quality— Lesser, Normal, and Greater— the amount of inventory space and mental task to manage all these runes is excessive and creates socketable bloat. I propose to streamline the rune system by removing the "Normal tier" entirely and keeping Lesser for leveling and Greater for endgame.
Two-Tier Runes: • Lesser Runes (Leveling): Common, low-impact socketables used freely during campaign. • Greater Runes (Endgame): Rare, high-impact socketables used for endgame progression. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on Apr 21, 2026, 2:29:35 PM Last bumped on Apr 22, 2026, 9:04:25 AM

Am I the only one that thinks socketable bloat is an issue?

what you mean inventory space?
Socketable tab is there for a reason, just buy it. Did you know about the tab right? pretty sure no Last edited by IILU81II#8410 on Apr 21, 2026, 10:55:01 AM

I hate having 3 or sometimes 4 different tiers for currency, these weren't even supposed to be in the game in the first place, they're just a workaround, a palliative solution to a much bigger problem But the thing is that GGG always prioritizes quantity over quality, so it’s pretty unlikely to change I'd rather have only 2 tiers, lesser and greater, pretty straightforward |

" Agreed, I just think there is already too much socketable bloat, and the game is still in EA. Last edited by CharlesJT#7681 on Apr 21, 2026, 2:28:51 PM

" Whole game is bloated. Currency like exalts should be automatically counted as higher tier with high ilvl items. GGG simps will say that this is bad, because everyone will just sell or hold on to their exalts, but that's just a balance issue. If I get my first exalt in act1 and I know I will probably get light radius, I sell. If I know I will get something that can get me through act2 I will craft. But this is GGG. Instead of fixing their crappy game designs, they throw more and more crappy designs into the game to cover it up, until it becomes so convoluted that casual players don't even bother to decode it, hence the faulty design gets so buried deep within the game most players no longer realize it's even there. At this point, 90% of the time you spend within the game is essentially pointless bloat. If they started streamlining stuff, players would realize just how primitive and simple the core gameplay loop is. Back to the original problem, there shouldn't be any kind of tiers for runes. The old system was fine, just let us destroy the equipment to get all runes back. That way I won't feel bad about using good runes on equipment I intend to swap out for a better one in the near future. Last edited by 50ShadesOfAutism#4419 on Apr 21, 2026, 5:31:02 PM

" until you found a decent 6x t2 weapons that can probably sell for quite some money, then you want to upgrade to 6x t1 weapons. you destroy the 6xt2 weapon ? |

" That worries me as well. They introducing more and more stuff which have it's own currencies. We essentially getting to POE1 level little by little where that problem is on full extreme. Path of Exile 2 is often claimed to be "next gen arpg" yet there is so much stuff that feels outdated or the game repeating the mistakes that has been solved in POE1 Last Epoch handles all the crafting related stuff much much better instead of being POE-like slot machine simulator.
