Skill Transparency Slider for Better Visual Clarity

Path of Exile is, without a doubt, one of the best ARPGs ever made. I’ve spent countless hours in both PoE 1 and PoE 2, and no other game even comes close to the amount of content, depth, and build diversity that you continuously deliver. The freedom to experiment with different builds is something truly special.

I also want to say that I genuinely appreciate the effort put into skill visuals and sound design — especially in the early stages of the game, everything feels impactful and satisfying.

However, there is a major issue that becomes more noticeable in the late game.

As your character progresses, the screen often gets completely overwhelmed by skill effects. At a certain point, it becomes extremely difficult to see what’s happening — not just enemies, but also important ground mechanics that you’re supposed to avoid. Sometimes, these mechanics even share similar colors with the environment or other effects, making them even harder to notice.

This becomes an even bigger problem in party play, where multiple players’ skills completely flood the screen. In many situations, avoiding damage becomes more about luck than skill simply because you can’t see anything clearly.

Suggestion:
Add a Skill Transparency Slider (or similar setting) that allows players to reduce the visual intensity/transparency of skill effects.

Many other ARPGs already offer this kind of option, and it greatly improves visual clarity without taking away from the core experience.

This wouldn’t remove the beautiful visuals you’ve created — it would simply give players the choice to adjust them based on their preference and gameplay needs.

Thanks for all the amazing work, and if you agree with this suggestion — feel free to bump the post 👍

Good luck with that. While I agree with everything, they seem to consider this a feature not a bug or something to be fixed. Their goal is to have you die, lose exp, and spend more time getting anywhere in the game. The more time you waste, the more likely you are to buy more junk. Or something.

Thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands?! have all had the same complaints about MTX and poor visiuals. No changes as of yet, just more over priced MTX on offer.
The one quality of life i am waiting. GGG Jesus in you we trust
