Can't use Ghostflame Holy Flame Totem MTX after imbuing gem

Hello,

I bought the Ghostflame Holy Fame Totem MTX this league and have been using it without any issues. However, I imbued my Holy Flame Totem skill gem with a Coin of Knowledge to get level 1 Infused Channeling, and now I can't use the MTX anymore because it says it is a type mismatch.

This is kind of lame because it's a huge upgrade but it's a VFX downgrade =/.

Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you!
