Blight Maps Instantly ending

I have had this happen with my last 4 blight Maps.

There seem to be split bosses that instantly end the entire encounter when they spawn or are near the pump.

The pump is never destroyed. They never make it all the way to the end to do damage to the pump.
The encounter simply ends as a loss.
