is the campaign still mandatory and long?

i just did a month of d2, and i really loved the experience of not doing the campaign. like, just skipping it altogether basically. i wish poe wouldnt force you into the campaign as hard as it does.

my personal idea is that poe should unlock the map device at level 5 provided you have a character that has completed the campaign completely, and tier 1 maps should just be whatever level your character is, so level 5 to 60 you can just buy tier 1 maps from a vendor and do them repeatedly, the atlas nodes wouldnt get flagged as complete with tier 1 maps, so you can just redo the same node over and over basically.

that would be nice, but a d2 style campaign skip would also be fine, where if a high level ports you to final boss and kills it you go to next act.

theres no need to redo the campaign every reset, im already sick of it tbh and we're still in alpha. lol.

oh, of course not, im not saying the campaign should go anywhere, there are people that love the campaign and legitimately enjoy playing it, and they should 100% be able to do that as many times as they want tbh. honestly, everyone should have the option of playing the campaign exactly as many times as they want. *wink wink*

It wouldnt be a bad idea to have that but it's not just about levels but also about skill books and permanent buffs.
How'd you implement that?

What i dont really get is that you (as for everyone who wants this) call the campaign long (~16 hours kinda doing everything? ~6 hours speedrun :D) and repetitive and boring but you want your character to be straight on maps which are even more repetitive. Is it just about currency farm or what?

yes, i play this game to farm items and trade, this is a trading platform. its essentially a TCG but free for me. i get this isnt what everyone plays this for, and i am understanding of people that play because they like leveling up, or whatever other reason they might play.

i wouldnt do anything about buffs and skill books tbh. just like d2, you want ur buffs and skill points and stuff? go back to the act and do the quest.

i wouldnt mind going back to a1 and doing 1 or 2 quests for buffs and skill points at level 65 because it would take like a few mins tops while i rain fire and brimstone on the whole act. which is a fundamentally different proposition than spending 16 hours on a campaign.

i just played d2 for a few weeks, and i went from 0 to 60 in 4 hours, then did all my mandatory campaign reward quests in another hour at level 60. it was really pleasant, not everyone wants to repeat campaign over and over again, once? sure, u should have to do it once per acct, but after that if you want to skip it you should be able to. and if you want to do campaign 20 times per league because its what you get enjoyment out of you should absolutely be able to do that too.
