Game Paused Issue

Dear Path of Exile 2 Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to report several issues I have been experiencing with Path of Exile 2 on PS5 Pro. I purchased the game on February 28, and unfortunately my experience has been significantly affected by recurring technical problems.

First, I would like to clarify that my internet connection is stable, and I do not believe the issue is caused by my network.

One of the problems I encounter is that, from time to time, I have great difficulty logging into the game. I receive an “Unexpected Error” message during login. Although this does not happen every time, it seems to occur roughly once in every ten login attempts. My impression is that this may be related to the connection between the Path of Exile 2 servers and the PSN network.

The more serious issue, however, is the “Game Paused” problem. This happens most often when I teleport, move from one area to another, or return to town. When this occurs, the game becomes stuck, and the only solution is to fully close and restart it. This issue is having a major impact on gameplay and, in my opinion, needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

In rarer cases, I also experience the same “Game Paused” issue during combat. During these moments, the game freezes for about two seconds, resumes for two seconds, then freezes again in a repeating cycle, with “Game Paused” displayed on the screen. Once this starts, the only way to continue playing properly is to restart the game entirely. In addition, I may also encounter the login/authentication issue I mentioned earlier.

To be completely honest, if I play for around 45 minutes, nearly 25 minutes of that time can be lost because of these problems. This has greatly reduced my enjoyment of the game.

I kindly ask that you look into these issues and consider a fix as soon as possible. If needed, I would be happy to provide screenshots or video recordings. However, from what I have seen on the forums, many other players seem to be experiencing similar problems as well.

The game is designed to auto-pause in two circumstances;

• A controller has become disconnected
• Your latency to the server has become excessive

Consoles don't typically lend themselves well to technical troubleshooting, but if your controller doesn't notably have other issues then it's more likely to be a connectivity-related issue.

Would you have a desktop or laptop you could use for running diagnostics?

My controller is almost certainly disconnecting. The problem is that I experience these game paused issues more frequently, especially on weekends when the servers are very busy. Sometimes I can't even join the game. However, I can always play PoE 1 without any problems.

I don't get this "game paused" error while playing the game. 90% of the time it happens when I return to town or change maps. Sometimes it also happens when I die and respawn. In short, I get it every time I teleport. From what I've seen on the forum, other users are also experiencing this problem.
