after a face-to-face transaction, the other party did not receive the currency.

Face-to-face equipment trade:

After the trade, the other party didn't receive the currency, but the traded equipment remains with them.

My currency disappeared, and the equipment I received changed its name and affixes.

I wonder if anyone else has encountered the same situation.

sounds like you got scammed to me (item swap), was the trader your friend?

That person is my friend, we chat in DC.
He suddenly needed 400D to buy equipment.
I borrowed 400D from friend A during the trade, and this happened.
My 400D disappeared, and he didn't have any either.
He said he saw a character with the same ID as him in the party.

You traded the wrong player then...that one guy with same ID

You can't have the same ID in a game, right?

Especially since that character's level and class are exactly the same as my friend's.

They even traded the same Blizzard helmet.

No, not the same but just change one letter and it's done, it got pretty common lately, you can check youtube and see how it works. it will probably ring a bell, check others too just so you know what people are capable of when it comes to scam.
