Double Strike usable weapons tooltip

The tooltips for all versions of Double Strike state that any melee weapon can be used but only axes work. Is this intended?

Close Combat Support - Supported Skills can only be used with Axes or Swords.
Void Shockwave Support - Supported Skills can only be used with Axes, Maces, Sceptres or Staves. |
