Foulgrasp Support not working for triggered brands

Foulgrasp Support, despite not specifying brands "you cast yourself" is not summoning hands when Brand Recalling brands that have been triggered (in my case with Cast While Channeling).

Unequipping Cast While Channeling, casting my own brands, then using Brand Recall (either manually or with Automation) succeeds in summoning hands with Foulgrasp.

Foulgrasp support has a trigger tag. You can't trigger a trigger.

weird, Foulgrasp is supposed to trigger off of brand recall though, and my Foulgrasp Support was not linked with brand recall or automation. the Cast While Channeling is supposed to affect the brand, which itself should be the one being supported by foulgrasp

I might be misunderstanding, but I don't think Cast While Channeling should disable Foulgrasp Support, it should simply not interact with each other no? (since CWC should be interacting with the brand, while Foulgrasp is interacting with Brand Recall)

also, Foulgrasp continues to work with a Brand Recall triggered by Automation when the brands are manually cast.

CWC triggers a brand which in itself cannot trigger again. Which is why removing CWC and self casting still works.

Automation + Brand Recall might be a special exception trigger for the purposes of Arcanist Brand (also a trigger skill). Otherwise that would break all of those Arcanist Brand Triggerbot builds that double trigger the brands on recall.

It's not impossible something is bugged being a new support and all. But if you do manage to get a reply from GGG, I'm sadly leaning towards a working as designed reply. Maybe the support should have extra wording, but not sure what sounds clear that it doesn't work when the casted brand was triggered.

yeah I'm hoping it's not intended because "spells you cast" is an existing wording that wasn't used in this instance :(

I should clarify though that I was not recalling Arcanist brand, just a regular brand that itself does not have the trigger tag. I haven't looked at the interaction with Arcanist specifically

I'm not sure I follow, if the gem link is something like Channeling spell – CWC – Brand – Foulgrasp, isn't it just because Foulgrasp (the active part) is supported by two triggers (CWC and Foulgrasp support itself)?

Foulgrasp active is triggered by Brand Recall, and since as someone's said you can't trigger triggers, it shouldn't be interacting with CWC. Fortunately, CWC isn't supposed to trigger Foulgrasp, only the relevant brand.

the cycle I was attempting is two-fold: channel skill > CWC > brand supported by Foulgrasp Support [end of triggers] automation > brand recall > Foulgrasp activates

Foulgrasp is not triggered by Brand Recall, it's triggered by the brand it supports, when it recalls, as stated. The rule is any skill supported by multiple triggers is disabled. Foulgrasp active is a compatible spell for CWC to trigger.
