Game on MacOS Tahoe does not permit login, constantly demands a patch which fails to load

Yesterday I was unable to log into POE on MacOS Tahoe 26.3.0.

It delivers the error:
LOGIN ERROR
There has been a patch that you need to update to. Please restart Path of Exile

Prior to this I have had no problems, at least since Mirage launch

[I am unable to verify the POE version, the pre-login screen merely states PoE1, but as I later note I have fully downloaded fresh from web site.]

I restarted many times, deleted the executable and re-Installed from POE web, I keep getting the same error

I see no way to apply a patch.

In desperation I accepted the Apple upgrade to 26.3.1. I then deleted ALL POE file notably in Application Support and re-downloaded the arduous 64+ GB over night. This worked fine and was able to play today. However on return to the game this afternoon, the game hung on login, eventually (after 20 minutes or so) I had to do a force quit in MacOS.

When I then try to log in I get the same old error.

Again multiple restarts don't work; I am reluctant to re-re-download the entire content.

I have written GGG technical support but they are unable to assist saying only to post the bug here and 'search forums'. I find similar references, all unresolved, or un-responded to

Any clues?

Grinding Gear Games do not provide Technical Support and have not done so for close to a decade; Grinding Gear Games appear to primarily develop for and test on the Windows platform with the macOS and console clients being distant afterthoughts; Grinding Gear Games have, as a company, notably had less time for Path of Exile ever since they began striving to finish Path of Exile 2.

If Path of Exile is available on Steam in your region I would strongly, strongly recommend relying upon Valve's game download servers and update procedures rather than GGG's. You might like Valve or you might dislike Valve - but whichever the case, their setup is considerably more mature.

just moved from XBOX which has been pretty reliable since Harbinger, so as an intro to the Mac client I am pretty unimpressed. Aggravating as it worked fine for a month or more; problem has arisen in last week or so, suspect with latest patch

Well I have done my duty and reported the bug. Up to them to consider a fix.

may explore steam, my one and only experience with it a number of years ago was a nightmare.

I'm getting the same error, and I also updated the operating system to Tahoe 26.3.
It was either that or start playing without understanding anything because the graphics were terrible.

Is there an update for POE on Mac?

Run from /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile fixed the problem

Worked for me :)
