Temple and being locked in a room

It feels bad when you get locked into a new room in the temple that arent bossrooms.
The feature makes sense for bossrooms, due to there only being a single large enemy encounter, but completely fails when rooms packed with rares, blues, and their surrounding minions. The feature makes the temple rooms feel unintuitve, as i when clear 1 room, and stroll into the next, where i see a huge stack of mobs. The default reaction is to try and reposition into the room i just cleared for safety. Only to then be met with a closed door or fogwall, and 30 mobs shooting at the tiny chokepoint aka the door which im standing next to. This closing of the rooms needs to remain a bossroom feature and should be removed from normal rooms. The reason why, is that the solution to my problem of getting stuck in a new room, is to simply stand 2 steps from the new room, within the cleared room, so i can move back as i want to do, while lure/cheese the mobs in the new room. YES. I hate this sooooooo much. You should never be locked in a room and forced to die. Hardcore exists. For instance, I don't even know if I'll play temple on hardcore. Early sure... I don't know when it gets dangerous. I'm not really sure how to pace the early temple building. Do 2-3 level rooms scale really hard, I have no idea. I don't want to find out by dying. If I could simply walk out if its getting scary, cool, no problem. Many rooms are too small to fight in, especially when you start getting the temple stacked. The doors are clearly bugged. I'm not even positive they are supposed to be shut, because they look open... not lol. Then if you die, the door remains shut, looks open, the mobs can't leave the room and only aoe can hit them; but they are all piled at the door so you can't get in. I've asked this question way too many times- but do you guys fucking playtest? I could go through a temple on my FIRST playthrough and point out a whole bunch of obvious issues. I mean, checkpoints?!?!?!?! The fucking doors!!! Are you guys serious? They don't even open/shut correctly. Then lesser bugs, like, you can get a medallion on your first run- you don't really know what they do, first temple. Goto the controls and add the room after you're done, to see what it does, cool. Click on close temple- your medallion room can get deleted. It just happened to me. I just roll my eyes at this point. Of course, lol. Oh those 3gs. |
