Originator's memory thread not openable

Trying to open the map through Aegon results in the error "The operation could not be completed". I've tried with/without atlas stones, rare/white map and a couple other options, like restarting the game and /recoveroldcraftingbenchitem but nothing works.

I've seen mention of this being due to trying to Maven Witness or add Exarch/Eater influence to memory thread maps.

To my understanding, the ability to use these with Eagon's memory thread maps is unlocked after progressing the quest to the point of defeating the Incarnation of Dread and receiving the Voidstone.
