Icon can't display more than 6 unattached brands at a time

The icon in the top left of the screen cannot display more than 6 unattached brands at a time, even though significantly more than that is possible. In the image below you can count 9 brands on the ground but the icon indicates 6. This is quite annoying since I'd like to be able to accurately tell when my brands are expiring and if I have them all set up before running into a new enemy.
