Ballista Totem MTX cannot support skill which has a lvl 1 "ballista totem " from new mirage currency

Basically, as the title states, I used a new mirage currency on my kinetic fusilade gem and it rolled lvl 1 "ballista totem" -- wonderful! However, I now cannot use my ballista totem MTX which I purchased this league because the MTX doesn't support kinetic fusilade (obviously) and the "gem" attached to it doesn't show up in the list of MTX-able gems.
