Staff/Wand/Focus Effects Do Nothing

90% of the time the effects from these items (and possibly more) suddenly disappear. When looking at skills, my DPS on Spark (as an example) drops from 800+ to 362 and my mana drains at a very rapid pace. Swapping weapons has no affect on this, including +% spell dmg, +to all skills, etc all change nothing on the skill level or DPS.

Sometimes they suddenly start working again and I can kill enemies much more quickly and my mana drains much slower, but these instances are short lived. This is not a buff/debuff issue as it is completely random.

I have not found any type of work around, but it's possible that entering new areas/instances might reset it sometimes.

Are skills properly assigned to weapon set 1 or 2 (staff/wand+focus)?

Quite embarrassing but I did have the wrong weapon set active. Thanks for the help!

Edit: I found the reason. My staff in weapon slot 2 has a spell assigned to A. I've been accidentally casting that when trying to pick stuff up and it's been switching my weapon.
