Game-Breaking Bug: Movement & Attack Speed Reduced Internally, Stats Unchanged
|
I encountered a severe bug in Path of Exile 2.
Despite the character sheet showing correct movement speed and attack speed values, my character suddenly moved and attacked extremely slowly, as if affected by a heavy debuff, even though none was active. Details: -Character: Level 23 Marauder -League: Fate of the Vaal -Mode: Softcore -Location: First Trial of Sekhemas -Name: Whatever_build -Time: ~12:00 PM (CET – UTC+1) Issue: The primary skill Rapid Assault, normally performing six fast attacks (with the final attack causing Bleeding), became extremely slow, as if attack speed was reduced by ~40–50%. Movement speed: Normally 9% at this level (level 23); during the bug, it felt like -10%. No debuffs or external effects were present. Exiting the trial resolved the issue; stats returned to normal. Additional context: Similar issues were less noticeable in previous ranged/caster endgame builds with very high projectile attack speed and boosted movement speed (often enhanced by stolen Headhunter modifiers). In those cases, it was easy to attribute any slowdown to map modifiers rather than a bug. This instance instead, with a melee-focused build, makes the issue clearly observable: attack speed and movement speed were drastically reduced while character stats remained normal, confirming a true bug. Impact: Melee builds can become nearly unplayable in affected zones, as the slowdown is severe despite correct stats. Request: Investigation into why movement speed and attack speed modifiers are not applied correctly in certain zones/trials, particularly affecting melee builds. UPDATE – Same day, same character (~16:30 CET): While fighting normally in Sandswept Marsh, after completing a random mob encounter, my character experienced the same bug again: drastically reduced attack speed and movement speed. In the attached clip, you can see the slowed attack speed. Additionally, when opening the portal to return to town, even the portal animation and sound are slowed down. After using the portal, my character remained in the same area, so I used the waypoint to change zones completely, and the clip then shows my character’s attack speed back to normal. https://youtu.be/7OjTgC8a6VQ Last edited by Babonzo#0016 on Feb 12, 2026, 10:58:17 AM Last bumped on Feb 12, 2026, 6:07:43 AM
