Visual inconsistency – Blackflame Covenant + Incinerate igniting Oil Grenade
|
Hi,
I would like to report a small visual inconsistency regarding the interaction between Blackflame Covenant, Incinerate, and Oil Grenade. Steps of the interaction: With Blackflame Covenant, Fire Spells convert 100% of their Fire Damage to Chaos Damage. Incinerate correctly turns purple, and its Ignite on monsters is also purple (as expected for Chaos damage). If a monster standing in Oil (from Oil Grenade) is ignited by Incinerate, the burning monster ignites the Oil on the ground. However, the flames on the ground remain red, even though: The monster that ignited the Oil is burning with purple Chaos flames. Monsters standing in the burning Oil show purple burning effects. Mechanically everything appears to work correctly. The issue is purely visual and about consistency: Since the source of the ignition is Chaos (purple Ignite from Incinerate with Blackflame Covenant), it would make sense for the burning Oil ground effect to also appear purple instead of red. Seeing red flames on the ground while all affected monsters burn in purple breaks the visual immersion of this interaction. This is only a visual consistency suggestion, not a balance concern. Thank you for your time. Last bumped on May 16, 2026, 6:40:57 PM

Hi Seuze,
First of all, I wanted to thank you. I’m experiencing the same behaviour, and it’s good to know I’m not the only one who wants to see the purple flame effect from the oil grenade’s ignited ground. Hopefully, we’ll be able to enjoy this visual effect in the upcoming patch =D |

Hi gitbashere
Thanks for confirming it, haha. I’m really glad I’m not the only one who noticed this interaction. The purple chaos flames would look so much better and make the whole Blackflame Covenant + Incinerate + Oil Grenade combo feel visually consistent. Now we just have to hope GGG doesn’t nerf the Incinerate + Oil Grenade interaction itself… because if they do, then changing the visual effect won’t even matter anymore LOL. (I’m laughing, but also slightly terrified about patch notes.) |

You guys actually use Oil Grenade?
I tried it. Almost died because I couldn't see anything then removed it. Also for some dumb reason Persistent Ground works with Gas Grenades but not Oil. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac
