[Suggestion] Legacy Certification: A Solution to Campaign Fatigue in PoE 2
|
The Problem: Campaign Fatigue & Player Churn
While the Acts in PoE2 are a masterpiece of design, many veteran players experience "campaign fatigue" after multiple runs. This repetitive process often becomes a barrier, leading to burnout mid-season or discouraging players from rolling a second character. To keep the community active, we need a bridge between the campaign experience and endgame efficiency. The Proposal: "Legacy Certification" I suggest an earned reward system that streamlines the leveling process for dedicated players in subsequent leagues. How to Obtain: A player must reach a significant milestone in the current league (e.g., reaching Level 90 or defeating a Pinnacle Boss). The Reward: Upon achievement, the player earns a non-tradable "Legacy Certification" for the next league. The Benefit: In the following season, this allows an Accelerated Growth Path for the same class (or previously played classes), featuring: - Optimized XP scaling during the campaign. - Streamlined Ascendancy/Quest progression (e.g., auto-unlocking passive points once the main quest reaches certain milestones). - This certificate is valid for one season only, ensuring players stay active each league to maintain the benefit. Why this fits GGG’s Philosophy: 1.Earned, Not Given: Unlike the "Skip Campaign" buttons in other ARPGs, this is a prestigious reward for mastery. It respects the philosophy that progression must be earned. 2.New Player Integrity: New or returning players cannot access this shortcut. They must complete the campaign traditionally first. This creates a long-term goal: "Play hard this league to enjoy a smoother start in the next." 3.Boosting Diversity: Making the second or third character of a season faster to level will significantly encourage build experimentation and prolong league interest. Conclusion: The "Legacy Certification" turns a repetitive chore into a meaningful reward for the dedicated Exile. It preserves the importance of the campaign for new explorers while giving veterans a faster path to the endgame they love. Thank you for your hard work on PoE 2. I look forward to hearing the community's thoughts. Best regards, A Loyal Exile Last bumped on Feb 11, 2026, 9:20:21 AM

they not gonna do it only because of citation: " MUH FRESH ECONOMY START " (most people do not care about economy, ggg cant accept that fact)

I appreciate the point about the economy. However, my goal with the Legacy Certification isn't to disrupt the fresh start, but to bridge the gap for dedicated players who can't spend 15 hours a day on the game.
Most importantly, this is a fair cycle for everyone. Today's new player will earn this same privilege for the next league as long as they stay engaged. It creates a powerful incentive to finish the current league strong. One critical point: GGG should not use the data from this accelerated path to balance character or class performance. This mechanism is purely a 'flow optimization' for veterans; any increased leveling speed under this certificate should be excluded from the core balancing parameters. This ensures that 'buffs/nerfs' are still based on the standard game experience, preventing any skewed data from affecting the true class balance. If the economy is the concern, we can focus on QoL—like pre-unlocked Waypoints or simplified Ascendancy—keeping the 'fresh start' feeling intact while removing the tedious parts. |

" like i totally get your point , this will be really good for game and players. my statement about economy is there to showcase how hard focused ggg on that (which sucks for everyone except traders and streamers) and literally anything that somehow can harm it (like your suggestion is less time of engagement with trading). so before they ever add something like you suggest we need to force out ggg from trading focus (there is literal proof plastered on their website and game) ![]() Last edited by TOP_BOMJIK#4977 on Feb 11, 2026, 5:45:05 AM

" Exactly. We have to admit that the league economy is already heavily influenced by organized groups and professional teams. For independent players, the real 'starting line' is the Endgame. My proposal is about giving solo players a fair tool to reach that starting line. The campaign shouldn't be a repetitive barrier that widens the gap; it should be a gateway. Once we reach the Endgame, that’s where the true experimentation, build testing, and rich experiences begin. By streamlining the leveling process for veterans, we aren't just 'skipping content'—we are accelerating the path to where the game truly thrives. This allows for more creative builds and a more vibrant community, rather than forcing everyone through a numbing 10-hour chore every time they want to try something new. |

" well unfortunately for that we need to break through trader wall first Last edited by TOP_BOMJIK#4977 on Feb 11, 2026, 7:44:27 AM

" Nothing in one league should affect the next league start. That wouldnt be fair and pretty sure that will never even be considered by the devs for that reason. I like to redo the campaign when i get past lvl 95 because i get a little bored in end game. I dont need any skip because that would remove the fun for me. Now i can understand some people want some kinda skip for the next character because it feel too long. If that ever happen, it defenitly should only affect the current league. SSF player
