Few Bug Reports – PoE 2 Patch 0.4

OS: Linux
Runtime: Proton (Steam)
GPU API tested: Vulkan (native), DX12 (translated to Vulkan via Proton)
Input: Mouse + Keyboard

1. Vulkan Performance & Input Desync Issues (Linux)

Native Vulkan rendering on Linux performs significantly worse than DX12 translated to Vulkan via Proton, despite Vulkan being used in both cases. This strongly suggests issues in the game’s Vulkan render pipeline or frame pacing/input handling.

Observed Behavior:

- Severe FPS drops when screen load increases (many entities, effects, spells).

During heavy drops:

- Player input becomes desynced from game state.

Example: pressing move once causes the character to continue running into walls or mobs. I can see my character moves on low FPS, but can't control it.
Inputs are not cancelled or updated until FPS recovers. Sometimes it takes 2-5 seconds, for example when playing full-party juiced temple.
It's occasional loss of control, not just visual lag or network issues.

Comparison Test

Native Vulkan:

- Large FPS drops
- Input buffering / loss of responsiveness

DX12 (translated to Vulkan via Proton):

- Significantly smoother
- No input desync, even when fps drops
- Stable behavior under identical combat conditions

DX12 -> Vulkan translation performs better than the game’s own Vulkan implementation. That is… not great.

Additional Notes:

Multiple players using Vulkan (on Windows) reported that lowering mouse polling rate improves Vulkan performance/input behavior.
Mouse polling rate affecting renderer stability should not be a thing.

Expected Behavior:

- Native Vulkan should perform at least as well as DX12 -> Vulkan translation.
- Input should remain responsive regardless of frame drops.
- Mouse polling rate should not influence rendering stability.


2. Simulacrum Bugs & Edge Cases
2.1 Simulacrum Progression Lock

Issue:
After exiting the Simulacrum via portal and re-entering, progression sometimes becomes impossible.

Steps:

Enter Simulacrum, Complete a few waves, Exit via portal, Re-enter, Attempt to start next wave via NPC

Result:

- Clicking the NPC does nothing
- Simulacrum is soft-locked
- Need to spend 150 simulacrum splinters to start from scratch

2.2 Boss Teleporting to Minions in Previous Rooms

Setup:

Item: Rite Passage Golden Charm with "Possessed by Spirit of the Primate"

Effect: Spawns many monkey (I call them Harambe)

Issue:

- Simulacrum boss can teleport to monkey minions spawned in previous rooms.
- Boss becomes unreachable unless using AoE skills through walls/rooms. (I'm using Firestorm spell to kill him)
- Loot drops in the previous room, where the boss is killed. This room is not accessible.

Expected Behavior:

- Boss teleport targets should be limited to the active Simulacrum room.
- Loot should drop in current wave room.

2.3 “Wave 16 of 15” Visual Bug
Issue: After completing Simulacrum and exiting/re-entering:

- UI shows Wave 16 / 15
- Cannot start the wave (non-interactive)
- Likely a counter overflow issue.

2.4 Diamond Skill Roll Suspicion (Needs Confirmation)

Not sure if bug or extreme RNG, but I farmed approximately 25–30 Diamonds this league, none rolled with 3 skills
Are 3-skill Diamonds are enabled? Yes, I saw them on trade.
There are hidden restrictions or weighting changes?
