WASD stopped working
|
I have been playing a lot this season. Three level 90+ characters without an issue. However in the past couple days, i have been unable to move. My WASD movement keys have stopped working in-game. Literally every other button functions properly on my keyboard except the WASD keys. If i bind "move up" to left click then it'll work, same with the other directions, but any letter on the keyboard will not work with it. I have tried many things and can't seem to figure it out. When i first open the game and load in, i can move with WASD for maybe a minute or two, but after that the WASD keys stop working and my character is stuck in place, with WASD having no effect but every other key working just fine (I for inventory, P for passive tree, etc... Point and click works fine, controller works fine, but for whatever reason WASD is not responding and it is driving me crazy. Also, this WASD issue is just in POE2, i have tried a few other games and my WASD keys work fine. They work if I type in chat in POE2 as well, just not for movement.

Yeah hopefully it happens to more people so we can get a fix. Haven't played poe2 since the original post and it sucks.

" what sucks is that you're posting this in a poe1 forum |

" Is this happening while using Steam? Also, does this issue get corrected if you unplug the controller, exit the game, reboot the system? |
|
" I don't have the controller plugged in at all when playing, but I do play it on steam. I'll try and mess with the controller settings in steam and see if that has something to do with it. Last edited by LethalJumper#9210 on Apr 21, 2026, 12:47:05 AM

" I (a person from reddit) figured it out! There was a task in the task manager that was preventing it from working. Once I ended the task called "Python" it started working perfectly again. Hopefully this helps you as well! |
