Pattern of dislike.

SSF
I just realized there is a pattern to the content I dislike, I suspect that many players will feel the same way. Sometimes it takes me a while to accurately nail down why I dislike specific content. Any content that has monsters spawning at random around my character, I tend to avoid playing. Breech is the worst offender of this, I dodge roll more in a breech than any other content, because I never get stuck more than in a breech. It has an insane monster density, far greater than ANYTHING else. I know players love this, and it has potential, of course- but it is not balanced in comparison to relative content. Its not even close. Its simply not fun when the greatest chance of death is running out of space, getting stuck, moving too slowly in comparison to the mobs. Then you can also click on items on the ground, even though they are invisible. For fucks sake can we fix that in this century?!!? Fuck its annoying, and can get me killed. I'm not especially offended by the breach content.
But I agree with the patterns showing up over and over again throughout pretty much all of the content, old or new. Little simple mistakes devs do, that create a lot of trouble. Not every player is getting upset by stuff like that. Some players are very casual and calm, just playing the game and let nothing disturb them. But some of us, and I bet there are a lot of that kind of players, want the game to be as flawless as possible. And I do think even the devs want that. Well but they sometimes do a terrible job to address certain things. I don't know if it's a lack of the people responsible on the forums for feedback and bug reports - to forward it to the devs (or tech support or whoever it may be) or the devs being overwhelmed with stuff to fix, or the poor decision making at times by the devs, to think that certain changes aren't necessary or have low priority, when in fact some small changes could have a big impact on the happiness of players playing the game. Sometimes it just wouldn't hurt to give the players what they want, you as a dev wouldn't lose your dignity when doing so. In fact it would probably add to it, cause you've done a good thing, for a good number of people, that are consuming 'your product'. Druid and new season hype - December 12th, 2025! Thanks GGG for putting in the work!
I'm sure you'll figure stuff out as you go and keep going. |

they've made improvements to those mechanics, like strongboxes, breach, delirium, expedition, and abysses. making the spawn in have a pause between your activation and the mobs appearing, and then their spawn is a bit more staggered so you don't quite get so bodyblocked/locked in place. and now they reduced pack size in exchange for effectiveness as well.
breach can still feel like bs in later maps, but by that point you should be ready to lay down some death when/before you activate it. maybe it spawn-in mechanics still need some tweaking to make combat more "meaningful" and less "explode screen before you can get killed" and that's fair feedback. i think things are getting to a pretty good place, and now more focus should be on reworking how packs of mobs interact as well as individual mobs. that feels like a major missing piece towards making combat feel interactive. then, maybe, they can start tuning pack size as well as spawn-in mechanics. Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.
