The ascendancy respec is too bothersome. It is totally fine, that you can't just respect it and have to do a trial again, but redoing multiple trials is just boring, and just feels like wasting time. Restart a new character for that, like wise.

Yep, this is an atavism. They are trying to keep classes in their 100% classless game.

You only need to redo the first floor in sekhemas or the first boss in Chaos Temple. It should be super easy and quick for any character that already has an ascendancy. And this is only for switching subclass. If you want to respec ascendancy passive points, you can do it with the Hooded One/Doryany as with the other passives.
