resistance swapping in poe2

One of the greatest things we have in PoE1 is the ability to swap resistance rolls with harvest. Now, I don't think were ever getting Harvest in PoE2 and that's a good thing.

Here is my suggestion!

Omen of Elemental Exaltation and Omen of Chaotic Elements.

What do these do?

Omen of Elemental Exaltation interacts with your current resistance roll on the item and can do the following.

Omen + Exalted Orb has a chance to increase the tier of your resistance by 1 tier but can lower it by 1 to 2 tiers.

For example. Your boots have a tier 3 cold resistance roll of 31-35%

You use this Omen and it has a chance to increase it to tier 2 36-40% but it can also lower the tier by 1 to 2. 26-30% and 21-25% respectively.

Using a greater exalted orb would guarantee our resistance roll increases by 1 to 36-40% and only has a chance to lower the tier by 1.

Using a perfect exalted orb would increase the tier by 1, with a chance to increase it by 2 from 31-35% to 36-40%(tier2) or 41-45%(tier1) and no longer has a chance to lower the tier of resistance.

Obviously, most people would never use the omen with a regular exalted orb, but it starts to look promising with a greater, and definitely with a perfect.

Now, what do the Omen of Chaotic Elements do?

Using the omen with a normal chaos orb will flip your cold resistance roll 31-35% to either lightning or fire, with a chance of lowering the resistance 1 to 2 tiers.

Using the omen with a greater chaos orb will flip your cold resistance roll 31-35% to either lightning or fire, with a chance of lowering the resistance 1 tier.

and finally using the omen with a perfect chaos orb will simply swap the resistance to either fire or lightning within the same tier.

I believe both these omens would add a good sink for greater and perfect exalts & chaos all league. They provide us with the tools to fix our resistance but doesn't simply break the power scaling by giving us no risk access to these things.

Perhaps you only need 20% cold res and dont care, you can just use a greater or normal chaos orb. However there is risk perhaps you dont get that cold roll and it swaps to lightning and drops the res down 2 tiers. If you swap again sure you get your cold but now its tier1 and you only get 6-10% cold res. Guess you need to use some of those exalts now!
