Cast ons feedback

Hello,

at the beginning i was really hyped for cast on mechanics. Now I think it works against build variety and "meaningful combat"

Like seriously, according to poe ninja coa + coc combined is now 51% of sc league.

77% of coc builds use comet.

84% of coa builds use comet.

Boooring. Comet rains everywhere.

I`m aware spirit oriented skills pool is not that wide but i still feel there is a leash on variety. Examples:

Blink - 13% (jah ith ber, duh?)
Time of need - 9% (very nice mapping skill)
Convalescence - 11% (tied to best defensive layer ingame)

Getting rid of cast ons might cause everyone being able to use most of things but numbes like requirements, gains from quest or gear can be readjusted in a simple way.

Anyone feeling similar?

I think the issue isn't so much CoC, but the fact that Comet is the only single-target spell. This is the same problem as "fire magic is wimpy" imo.

It would be nice to have more options to fight high-HP bosses as a spellcaster.

High Damage (Ultimate) skills should probably get a cumulative increase in cast delay/cooldown or something the more it gets cast probably in last 10 seconds to atleast lessen the spam effectiveness of skills like Comet.

Well, more single target spells would solve comet domination(maybe) but wouldnt solve coa/coc domination among spirit skills.

Take Summon Raging Spirit as an example. With my minion-build Gemling Legionnaire, I had automatic power charge generation, so I was able to spec into temporary minions, and throw Thunderstorm with Living Lightning, and 12 empowered zombies at rares and bosses. When I tried to do something similar with a fire spellcaster and SRS, I couldn't make it work. I would have to scale both spell damage and minion damage, and there's no big-hit fire spell like Comet. After the campaign, SRS doesn't seem to be worth the spirit.

If I could be a hybrid fire caster/minion build, the way it's now possible to be a Rage melee/minion build, I'd use SRS instead of CoC/Comet.
