useless uniques

I cannot for the life of me understand why unique items have Base stats so incredibly low they make a unique item completely unusable. I get they are not supposed to be Bis. Uniques are supposed to be Build Enabling and/or able to built around.

However at some point the base items stats are so incredibly low and theres such a huge deficit of defense that it does not justify even attempting to use the item.

The example currently on my mind is the coming calamity chest plate. Awesome armor, awesome stats. Base item stats? in the literal 200's. This item should fall somewhere in mid tier like 1k armor 700 evasion ATLEAST.


A Bis hybrid chest is around 2k armor AND evasion and again I fully understand how uniques are used... but theres no making up for a 200 armor, 200 evasion chest piece, none. Yah if i want to run some Tier 3 maps and have fun for 2 seconds sure but the second I want to do anything real this chest piece like so many other uniques are going staight into the stash to NEVER BE USED.


They did a pass over the base item stats of uniques already, alright, okay, now go back through and double or triple it. Don't they realize we want to build around these and not simply have them as novelty's?

PLEASE MAKE THE UNIQUES USEABLE.

Uniques should all be tiered and you'd have to throw an orb of some sort on it to increase the tier to match your level.
That way they could keep up with the requirements in regards to their base stats.
