Arbiter of Ash: When Evasion Stops Meaning Anything

Why are Arbiter’s circle nukes effectively ignoring evasion now? With 70–72% evasion chance, getting clipped repeatedly isn’t “unlucky,” it’s a mechanic problem.

Yes, I know softcore traders can trivialize this fight within a day by brute-forcing it with gear and DPS. That doesn’t make the fight well-designed. What used to be a skill check has turned into a positioning trap with no good answers. The overlapping circle nukes are already bad, but when Arbiter chains them with the beam—especially the non-guaranteed multi-nuke version—the fight stops being about reacting well and becomes about praying there’s still somewhere to stand.

This isn’t “on-time dodging,” and it’s not about farming Ritual for an Omen of Resurgence to tank the guaranteed beam + single nuke. That part of the fight is fine. I’m explicitly talking about the random multi-nuke overlaps. At that point, the question isn’t “did I play well?”—it’s “where exactly am I supposed to go?”

Unless you’re running extreme DPS with ~1k life glass-cannon nonsense, the fight actively punishes defensive investment. Intentionally tanking mechanics with absurd life or ES also isn’t a real option here. That directly contradicts the constant messaging—and Jonathan’s own comments—about defenses mattering.

I don’t mind dying. I don’t mind rolling another boss killer and pushing it to level 95 with six-figure DPS in a day. What I do mind is being told defenses are important while a flagship boss fight invalidates evasion—a core defense that already scales other defenses down—and turns survival into a damage check instead of a skill test.

I used to like this fight. I’ve beaten Arbiter multiple times with 10–20k DPS, in 4–5 minute fights that actually rewarded clean play. The current version is worse than what it was—and worse in a way that does not reward mastery.

So… why was this changed?

Elaborate what you mean, I'm having a hard time getting the message across.
But... Evasion never meant anything. I realized that in 0.1 by level 30.

Since there's no source of flat DR. Evasion will never work. Esp when many hits ignore it.
Just run 12k ES on a 1.8s Recharge time until they learn how to design games.
