Cannot interact with atlas sometimes when opening map device in hideout

Quite often (at least a few times per gaming session), when I open the atlas at the map device in my hideout, I cannot interact with the atlas. When this happens, the little icons above the nodes indicating things like deadly boss, are not present. This can be fixed by closing and opening the map again, but it happens often enough to be annoying.
