Morvak, the Infernal quad-slam animation does not play

Just had this kill me. I heavy stunned Morvak shortly after freezing him, and he did the quad-slam red flash move. However, he never changed from the initial facing and did not play his animation. The projectile on the ground was visible and the sound effects played.
