please add a warning pop-up if the temple is looping itself

before i get flamed, i know i'm an idiot and i should've paid more attention when temple building but hear me out:

i understand that temple is not the end all be all and there's other ways of having fun in the game and i understand poe 2 is still in early access and league mechanics are sometimes not the greatest. personally i want to build a perfect temple because i enjoy hearing big loots drop, running the same thing over and over again, and ultimately i want to feel the sense of accomplishment building it, knowing that i spent many hours building like other people did.

i've been following a few temple videos on techs and how to build them for the past couple weeks and decided to nuke my temple (fully built with no tech) and move my architect which took me approximately 15 hours (running maps and building) to finally get him in the perfect spot (shown in the images below).

brick 1 image: after a few more hours i bricked my first temple not realizing that with the russian tech, all of the spymasters kill each other if you loop, where i was originally trying to move my starting snake position from the right side to the left side. i put the armoury down on the left side and went inside the first spymaster room confused why they were dead and then after entering the second spymaster room it hit me, i bricked my temple.

it tilted me at first because i remember watching cutedog live about this and didn't fully understand it until he showed the 'before and after' (this was a couple weeks prior to all of this) and i've watched LLYD mention it in one of the many steps of his videos (i forgot that i needed a sac chamber after placing the armoury :( ) but then after a break, i decided hey, i spent a lot of time moving my architect, and i know what to do and what not to do.

so i tried again, putting another 10-12 hours rebuilding my temple again. i was feeling good, spymaster cards were dropping, and they were showing up as cards pretty frequently (more frequently than i've seen youtubers and people mention it at least) and i finally finished my spymaster chain, about to start my smithy-golem chain and i was excited because it was my first time doing it in-game (i practiced a bunch of the two temple building websites).

brick 2 image: i was just placing cards down in the middle to try to get more upgrade medallions and then i realized i placed the dynamo next to my main snake and i knew it was over.

i felt like crap because i was thinking of not having the mental capacity to try again, messing up AGAIN because of one simple placement error, and how frustrating temple building can be.

i know it's my fault and like i said, i should've been more careful, but after so many hours temple building can be draining. you have to be mindless and mindful throughout the whole process of building the perfect temple and one mishap can end it completely.

what's worse is that the communication between the devs and the players have been horrific the past few weeks, especially starting at hotfix 12. yes they did redeem themselves by reverting the lock medallion change and added some other QoL changes to temple building as well as re-enabling holten beacons as well as making account-wide crystal and medallions, but the temple still needs some more work.

so what i'm asking is, please properly build these temples that the players are making and understand how time consuming, how methodical, and how easy it is to mess up and add more safety guards to make sure people don't mess up their temples. start with adding a warning pop-up when we're looping because even though it is a common sense rule to not loop your snake, it can end instantly.

i'm definitely done with the league now until they add more fixes, but even after that it might be too late to start doing it without real enjoyment.

Just looped my Temple as well. Room medallion not showing links finally got me. I too am done with the league. Had fun with the league, but rebuilding would just be agonising at this point.
Are you supposed to keep killing the architect? I can't get more than two rooms along the outside before they get deleted. Was there ever any explanation for how this works that isn't a 30min youtube video where the guy already has a full temple?

We shouldn't need to have to use 3rd party websites or Youtube guides to learn about this stuff. It is ridiculous. Some things are just so obtuse it is mind-boggling.

Nah building temple is for the best of the best of the best people to do. Warning, guiding, explaination in game is for the weak. Dev should take inspiration from Fear, Death and Hunger game to make this game better.

unfortunately there's no in-game explanation besides until recent, they added what rooms connect to which if you hold "alt" but it doesn't explain how to build a juiced temple that you can keep running over and over like i tried and many others have done.

the standard way that we initially thought how to do the temple when we first saw it was to build roads to the architect, find the royal access chamber from his access panel and then bridge a way that connects the royal access chamber to be able to enter atziri's chamber and kill her to reap the rewards.

although many have figured it out that some rooms can be continuously connected (like in the images shown from my original post) and stay connected by having as many Spymaster rooms as possible, which has a high chance of dropping a medallion that lets you lock a room from destabilizing over and over until you make a huge chain of rooms you can keep running for more rewards.

i quite enjoy reading through a guide and doing something properly as long as it's rewarding and fun but i also agree with you and others that have already posted, we shouldn't really need a player-created website to understand how the temple works, and even without a website, for example, the temple still doesn't show us what a card connects to if you have the medallion version of the card, it just shows that you can place it in specific tiles without any reaction.
