Feedback on citadel placement

Dear developers,
I understand you want to keep the citadels rare. I liked the introduced light beams in patch 0.2. I returned with patch 0.4 to notice that no light beams are visible at the start. Moving one straight line in all directions gave me one citadel in north. The light beam was only visible 5 nodes away. I my eyes this compromises the intial idea of the light beam. With one more map the citadel was anyway visible. For example the mansion in the mists can be seen much further ahead. You can also find easily corrupted nexuses by following the corruption. Only the citadels are hard to find which is frustrating. I do not understand why the light beams are not shown further away allowing the player to work their way to the citadel with more direction. Spawn rates can stay the same then as long as you have a deterministic way of approaching them. In addition you can only run the citadel once. If you fail it, you need to search another long time for another one. I feel this extends game time, but not in a fun way. Last bumped on Jan 19, 2026, 2:30:21 AM
