This game suffers from major balancing issues

Just watch 2 mins of gameplay from leeching in a map
https://youtu.be/elgOMTX85xk I was doing SSF no problem up untill level 89 and citadels where I just wasn't having fun anymore, to make progression get gear + levelling is actually ridiculous in SSF No way to target farm augments/soul cores list could keep going, SSF in its current state is a joke Leeched in trade league to get a few more needed points, and honestly its astonishing how broken this game is, yet thats only the experience of maybe 5% of players? while the rest of us are out here struggling to complete 1 juiced T15 map xD Oh skill issue, build issue, ok, look at the passives spellcasters get, look at the nodes melee get, Notice all the ES nodes? Less recharge delays, faster start of ES regen, more max ES? Now try to find some equivelant nodes on the left but HP as that's what melee relies on you know being up close with your melee weapon.... Oh? really nothing too similar, only more phys damage perks and increased armour, No increased life regen thats equivelant to ES regen, no way to scale max hp like ES, Like we need Fortify, I'm sorry but it's really not that hard, Examine other ARPG's and that they offer melee as extra survivability layers, If anything we need MORE DAMAGE REDUCTION NODES, OR FORTIFY FFS Last bumped on Jan 17, 2026, 11:22:17 PM

" You might be burned out on the league, but fwiw I confirmed that they fixed the Immured Fury. I killed it for the first time ever (cool music), and got the guaranteed Fracturing Orb. If you fracture a T1, and then have another T1 on that item, and have a second item with a T1, and you put the items in the Recombinator, you have a 20% chance of getting an item with all three T1s, including the original fractured modifier still fractured. I don't know if I'm going to take the time to farm more Fracturing Orbs this league. But if I could have done that from day one, I would have leaned into it hard. 0.4 SSF: Gemling Minions: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/DistributedAutomaton-5739/character/CrystalController

" Lost me at the typical melee brain ES hate. I was with you until then. Just watching the YouTube vid shows plenty that the caster never gets hit so has nothing to do with ES being too good. Balance is wild for sure and I'll never understand why anyone plays ssf currently. But the depth of the issues are beyond just being upset that ES has bigger numbers than HP. Just the damage mitigation and vulnerability of each causes drastic differences in survivability not always in favor of ES. Kill stuff faster, you'll need less defense. |

" He has somewhat of a point but expressed it poorly. The reality is balance in ARPGs went off the rails as far back as diablo 2, 1.10. Before that, if you wanted to be able to be powerful enough to essentially 3 or 4 tap a boss, you had to do it from melee. Whats happened in POE is the devs have catered to ranged players far far too much. When you can build or scale ranged dps as high as melee, and be able to essentially oneshot mobs from the screens distance away, it kills balance and makes melee obsolete. If you go back to 1.09 of diablo 2, ranged could generally AOE very well, while melee had extremely high single target dps. Ranged could still scale their damage very well, so to counter this, the devs put in intentionally power limiting game mechanics to balance ranged. Resistances - the devs made sure that ranged would have clear weaknesses for being able to attack from afar. Large parts of the game ranged would be severely handicapped, and be forced to split their builds and overall single target power level, or avoid the areas completely. Then 1.10 came and introduced hammerdins and infinity, which completely removed the weaknesses originally inherent in ranged. And since then a lot of ranged arpg enjoyers think they should be able to match melee damage while doing it out of harms way, and thats continued on and got worse with POE. If you can kill mobs near enough offscren, there has to be a severe tradeoff somewhere, and POE1/2 just doesn't have it. And I genuinely think if they tried properly balancing ranged the forums/ranged playerbase would go into meltdown. |
