Why are flying monsters immume to ignited ground??

ground is ground, fly is fly.

Because it's on the ground not on the air.
Are they supposed to suffocate do to smoke and lack of oxygen? Maybe damaged due to rising heat? Too much effort...it's easier to use something that most gamers familiar with. Flying pokemon is immune to Ground moves. |

That doesn't apply to wyvern's flame breath for some reason
