Main music theme not epic enough

I’m sure I’ll get flamed for this, but…

If the goal is to create the most memorable and awesome ARPG of all time, I don’t think the pan flute music is good enough.

I might be biased because my 60 year old dad used to listen to pan flute music. Or maybe because I’ve only seen old people play the pan flute. Or maybe because there’s no drums.

But this music is just so meh.

I don’t really want to compare it to the music of Diablo 2, because maybe there’s just too much nostalgia biasing me. But we randomly started the Netflix series “Kingdom”, and I thought that the music of the first few minutes of this series was already so much more exciting than the PoE2 music, and something like that would be much more memorable.

All in all, it might be worth just considering if this pan flute music is really the best you can do to make memories for new PoE2 players once 1.0 comes out.

Btw I’ve got nothing against pan flute music. I think it can do amazing work in something like a western.

But this game is about an epic journey to fight a growing threat of corruption, a beast so powerful past edicts have made weapons to fight it and murals to eternalise knowledge about it.

We’re not riding around the flats on a horse. We’re going through a journey of epic proportions, working together with the very person that set the Beast loose on this world, and traveling to the past to gather what we need in the present.

I don’t think a pan flute really does justice to that.
Imagine if the main Lord of the Rings theme was pan flute music…
