"Deadlock Detected", Can't play
|
*** UPDATE ***
What worked for me: 1. Lowering graphic settings 2. Use "windowed mode" 3. OS drive was almost full, clean up and make sure you have at least 15-20% space left 4. Configure Paging file ("Virtual Memory"), choose "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" ************** After 5–15 minutes of playing Path of Exile 2, I consistently encounter a "Deadlock Detected" error that completely freezes both the game and my entire PC. This issue has been occurring for the past week and appears to be unresolved. I have tried multiple community-suggested workarounds, including: 1. Deleting the My Games/Path of Exile 2 folder from my user directory 2. Updating my GPU drivers 3. Letting the error hang without acknowledging it 4. Changing the renderer from DirectX12 to Vulkan 5. Lowering video settings Unfortunately, none of these solutions have worked, and the error continues to occur. At this point, the game is completely unplayable. I get this error every few days and only a complete reinstall of the game helps, I'm already tired of it.

I got this repeatedly last night, like every 5 - 10 mins, while mapping in a party.
GGG Need to get thier act together. This is unacceptable, POE2 is bleeding players like an open wound. |
|
" It's unfortunate (if not uncommon) that poor old Kernelbase.dll is getting the blame for this. " If you disable the Steam Overlay and keep PoE 2 on the Vulkan API, does the problem still occur? If so - could you show us a new crash log? It's not that I won't believe you - it's just that sometimes innocent bystanders get blamed in crash logs, and you need to rule out possible issues one by one until finally a crash log correctly identifies the source of the problem. Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

There is nothing you can do to stop it, changing renderer, settings to low, changing drivers, nothing anyone has tried works. Its a shader compile error which loads the processing of the shaders to the wrong thread(s) and gives the Deadlock Detected error.

No workaround has worked for me yet. I’m still getting "Deadlock Detected." The game has been unplayable for weeks!

I’m honestly frustrated at this point !
This bug has been reported multiple times and it’s still not fixed It breaks gameplay and makes the game feel unfinished It’s really disappointing to see it ignored after so long |

Hi, I am experiencing a very similar issue, although it doesn't always lead to a complete PC crash.
Every 15 minutes or so, my game and the entire PC freeze completely for a few seconds. After that, the "Gears and Embers" loading screen appears, and the game successfully recovers, allowing me to continue exactly where I left off without dying. While it's great that the game's recovery system works, these frequent freezes are making the gameplay experience very frustrating. It seems like the "Deadlock" is being caught and handled by the engine's emergency restart, but the underlying cause remains. My Specs: GPU: GeForce RTX 3080 CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D OS: Windows 11 Pro Renderer: DirectX 12 Playing solo. Thanks ! |
