Ghost Dance stacks being taken away when using Volatility despite being immune via Acolyte.

Title.
I have the node to take No Damage from Volatility, yet the pop is still taking my Ghost Dance stacks as if they're stopping damage. Last bumped on Jan 15, 2026, 9:32:30 PM

This is not a bug.
Ghost Dance doesn't work when you take damage. Ghost Dance works when you are Hit. A Hit that doesn't damage you is a Hit nonetheless. Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

I'll disagree on this and wait for a GGG response.
Volatility doesn't state it "Hits", it does damage. You take no damage, so you should not be having any interaction with the damaging portion of Volatility. Last edited by Peenk#2338 on Jan 15, 2026, 8:05:12 PM

" You are, of course, perfectly welcome to hope for a response from GGG - but they respond to a tiny minority of bug reports. " To quote the game itself; "Any damage that isn't damage over time is Hit damage." Besides;
" Respectfully - that is not how GGG's game engine has ever worked. A Hit can be meaningful irrespective of whether damage is done. Just because it is not doing damage doesn't mean it shouldn't be processed by the server. GGG are notoriously sticklers for terminology - if the game doesn't tell you a Hit won't happen, assume that it will happen. " Acolyte specifically states you take no damage from Volatiltiy, not that it’s mitigated, that the specific mechanic or taking damage through volatility is removed. Not that you reduce the damage to 0, its wording implies it doesn’t do the damage you are claiming is a Hit. I appreciate the response but I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m claiming the issue is? The wording behind the Acolyte node is specific in its wording but doesn’t work as expected. " Okay. So, let's begin with some of the most basic gameplay & engine mechanics of the two Paths of Exile and work our way up from there. We need a solid foundation or we aren't going to get anywhere. I updated Path of Exile II, I logged in on a character with the Deep Freeze support in use, and I took a look at the "Hits" tooltip to create the following screenshot; ![]() Do you now accept that all damage in the two PoEs is either a Hit or DoT?
