Thousand hour Feedback

Obviously as my post indicates I've played for a thousand hours, so obviously I like the game. With that said though there's a few things that could use an overhauls or changes. This is just my opinion and what id like to see I'm sure not everyone is going to agree with me here on solutions, only that something is missing from the game.

Things I think that should be fixed or changed:

Portals: Yes its been discussed to death, but it just doesn't feel good in anyway, if we want to play hardcore we play hardcore. If you want the game to be harder then make the game harder but give us portals, you don't have to use this fake difficulty scaling to make the game hard. It makes more sense on bossing but not mapping

Map size and layouts: Why is there always something blocking my path? And why do I have to travel to the the other side of the map that's nowhere near a checkpoint to get the last rare I want, rather just leave the map. Otherwise I like the detail in maps, each feels unique to the last.

Downsides on the passive tree and uniques: I just think we went a little overboard with it. No matter how many times you buff uniques "reduced attack speed" is going to feel awful, why do I have to cut off my hand to get a cooler chest/weapon etc? It makes sense if the bonus is too strong but thats it really. Can we just avoid the "Increased damage on Tuesdays" approach?

Skills on items: Its too strong, limit it to a few peices like poe1, and added in more interesting stat lines. Items are consider crap without skills , nothing else compares to it.

ES NERF and or LIFE BUFF: Its kind of dumb how much es you can get compared to life, just give us life on the tree and it'll help solve armor issues. We cant tank the hits because we have no life lol, but if I play the same build with ES and Armor I can tank the hit fine. Either make it somewhat more fair or nerf Es a bit

Checkpoints: Feel so out of place and like a place holder, maybe make them more aesthetic to the location they are in? Or Have invisible check points? Im not sure what to do here it just feels weird

Movement: Please give us more movement skills.

It feels like you tried to make a modern D2-paced Arpg and while I appreciate the effort and saw the vision, its just not working.

Crafting Bench: pretty simple, give us the bench, we need currency sinks, the economy gets ruined so fast, especially if someone finds a broken strategy, it just breaks the econ

Skill system: I think its overall an upgrade from poe1 for the skills themselves, but supports feel awful and there's like 200 that each do weird things but at the price of power, and most are not impactful at all. Infact support skills are so mediocre that we are seeing most endgame skills using more and more lineage skills which in my opinion are much cooler, but still not as cool as support skills from poe1. I don't really think there was a need to change the way skills were from poe1 minus the way they linked which is a HUGE upgrade by the way.

One more thing about skills: We need more skills that are universally useable in the future, being locked to a weapon type to use a skill feels really bad. Where are all the Sword/dagger Mace/Axe skills? It would open up a lot more build diversity and freedom.

Otherwise keep up the good work, looking forward to next league.

shameless bump. Maybe it'll be useful to devs maybe not.
Souls-like RPG! Need more death and things to keep people interested.
iirc checkpoints are indeed placeholder but i dont remember anymore what was the original idea

i dont mind map leyout being full of stuff but make 90% of them collisionless so i can dash or sprint through them its so stupid

Too punishing, and finally once you push through all that pain and suffering, THE REWARD IS GARBAGE, ITS LIKE GAMBLING IN A CASINO
