Equipped Skill gem not upgraded due to lack of attributes

I just bought a level 20 gem for about 2 divine
to upgrade a skill gem that I had equipped, I wanted to make it level 21/20 quality
to sell the gem

So I get the attributes to equip the gem, use the level 20 gem on the equipped gem via equipped gem tab, and what happens? It puts a level 20 gem copy of it in my inventory and doesn't upgrade my equipped gem that has the +1 level tag, cause I lacked the attributes of the upgraded version of it.

What a horrible system, there are ways around that, no need to punish a player in this way.

You can make it so the equipped gem for which your attributes will be lacking - just jumps to inventory instead, or just have it 'turned off' in the skill window, just like spirit gems when you don't have enough spirit.

But making players lose currency over this is bad!!
