POE 2 : Network spikes constantly unsure how to resolve
|
Hi, Have been facing this issue for a couple of days and have not found a fix yet. I did find a thread by @minnime2 on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1pxhwpb/network_spikes_constantly_unsure_how_to_resolve/), which goes into details with a video example. According to the thread, there are a lot of others facing similar problems.
Pls help, the game is unplayable, especially in maps with higher monster density. Last bumped on Jan 15, 2026, 4:08:41 AM

If you post an MTR log GGG can investigate this for you.
The below guide is written with PoE 1 in mind, but you should be able to follow along for PoE 2 making only minor adjustments (e.g. going to a slightly different folder to find the log file). If you get stuck somewhere in the guide, just let us know where and someone will help you move past it. https://www.poecommunity.help/information/server-connection Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

Unfortunately this is the game's biggest tinfoil hat issue
This has to be 100% a devOps problem on GGG's side. You can jump from map to map, from instance to instance, and it's a roll of the dice whether you end up in a bad ping spike instance, or a stable one. It's not something any player can influence from their side. You can literally be in hideout with a 14ms ping, start a map, and you'll be spiking into the thousands making it unplayable. Return to hideout and you're good again. And I have never come across any kind of acknowledgment of the issue, and it exists since POE1 even. They probably reused the same server and connection infrastructure for POE2 |
