Things I don't find fun, or that reduce my fun

I generally like the game and think it's the best ARPG out there, but each season stuff grinds on me until I eventually stop playing and wait for the next season.
1. Punished for killing the boss too fast- Bosses like Doryiana and Jormana have these forced transition phases. No matter how well you build your character and blast them you kinda have to suffer through these "I can hit you, but you can't hit me" phases. It sucks, especially if you're stronger offensively than defensively when just getting into the endgame. I've died a handful of times exclusively to these transitions (mostly Doryiana) when I could've nuked him in seconds. /Gitgud I know 2. It feels like ranged units do disporpotionally more damage- Before getting my endgame defenses squared away, I can jump into the middle of a pack or be swarmed and barely take any damage but then I'll get one shot from some missile either off screen or on the outer edges. It's super annoying. May just be me, but that's how I die 90% of the time. It's like Chris Kyle is waiting for me. 3. Expedition- Just feels really boring and unrewarding to me. I seem to ignore this mechanic almost entirely each season. It also slows down the pace of gameplay reading everything and then trying to configure the blast charges. 4. Similacrum- The endgame encounter for delirium feels too long and boring for the reward. The breach encounter feels better to me because you're blasting through mobs to get to an eventual boss encounter that is fun and engaging. 5. The Market- I think it was a great addition to the game, but would still like to see it improved upon. I still have to add the modifiers manually for items which can be time consuming, and still occasionally click the wrong ones for the items i'm trying to look up. Like clicking " X to max energy shield" vs "x to max energy shield (local)". Third party apps help with this for price checking, but I would like to see something comparable baked into the game. 6. Campaign Passives - I would like to see something implemented to check and make sure I acquired all of them easily, and have the option to change more of the choice ones as I progress my character into the endgame. I may need that +5% fire res to start the endgame, but it becomes less vaulable over time. 7. Town Portals- When I leave the abyss or temple it just takes me back to the map I'm running. If I tp out of the trialmaster or sekehmas it takes me back to that acts town instead of my hideout. I would like for all of these just to take me back directly to my hideout instead of playing a portal hopping game. 8. Uniques- Most of them feel useless to me across all builds. They are just generally weak overall, don't scale well, or severly drowned out by whatever negative modifier is attached to them. I would like to see a buff to them generally. They also seem really hard to target farm for the few that are useful. 9. Map mods not working with all maps- If I forget to take my abyss tablet off of certain maps likes the rolling caravan, then I just wasted a charge of that tablet because it usually won't spawn any abyss fissures. 10. Headhunter- getting Shroudwalker on Headhunter is such a damn buzzkill. Can we just exclude that mod from being picked up? It's so annoying and serves non beneift. I can't even click it off from my buffs as I'm getting whiplashed around the map. I usually just wait for the buff to expire if I think it might get me killed. Last bumped on Jan 13, 2026, 8:17:38 AM

For 1, I've kinda liked that you can't always force your way through boss fights with just stacking enough damage. IMO it adds to the game more than takes away from it. Granted, I've played only HC, so defenses come quite naturally to me.
2. Agree, I don't get the balancing philosophy here. Range has an inherent advantage for clear and survivability for being, well, ranged, but on top of that, they do same or higher raw damage than close-up options do. 3. Yeah, only way I've found Expedition to give some benefit is to focus on maximizing rares and their drops, hope for a logbook, and then do one or two specific destinations. If the logbook doesn't have them, too bad. And even then it's low rewards compared to other content. 4. Yup, think Simulacrum is easily the longest pinnacle-like thing atm? 5. Support for copying an item's stats to trade search would be nice. Though to be honest I am still a bit on the fence with the trade convenience. To me seems it also has its bad sides, in that it makes players even more focused on trade, forcing the game to be even more strongly balanced around trade than it already is. 6. Yeah, kinda annoying this too needs a 3rd party app. 8. Lots of uniques have some very niche use case or might be useful for like 10 levels during the campaign but yeah, most uniques are essentially worthless. And some are just flat out worse in every respect than a mediocre rare of the same drop level. Seems pointless, though I suppose that at least those not-so-good uniques help fill up the unique pool so uniques can drop more often. 10. In some ways I do feel like scoring a bad modifier or even a downright harmful modifier with HH might not be entirely a bad thing. HH is regardless so powerful that a lot of builds just never want to run anything else. To me that's not a good thing. Last edited by tzaeru#0912 on Jan 13, 2026, 8:18:29 AM
